Our Story

Community Christian Church (Church of Christ) in Duncan has been a faithful presence in the Cowichan Valley for many decades. Our congregation traces its roots to the early days of settler families who carried a deep commitment to restoring New Testament Christianity — simple, scripture-driven, and centred entirely on Jesus Christ.

From humble beginnings meeting in homes and rented halls, the congregation grew into a stable community of believers who built the church at 2494 Dingwall Street — a location that has served as a spiritual home for generations of Duncan families. Through times of growth and seasons of challenge, the congregation has remained steadfast in its commitment to the ancient gospel.

Today, Community Christian Church continues that legacy — welcoming new families, baptising new believers, and serving the broader Duncan and Cowichan Valley community with the same spirit of humility and devotion that marked our founding generation.

We are part of the Churches of Christ fellowship — a movement, not a denomination — united by a shared commitment to scripture alone as the foundation of faith and practice.

Authority — The Word of God

Our Congregation

We are a diverse congregation — families with young children, teenagers, working adults, and seniors — all united by a common faith in Jesus Christ. You will find people here from many different walks of life, backgrounds, and even different journeys to faith.

What holds us together is not a common culture or social background, but a shared conviction: that the Bible is true, that Jesus is Lord, and that living in community as His followers is both a privilege and a calling.

Our congregation is warm, unpretentious, and genuinely welcoming. Visitors are never made to feel like outsiders. Whether you attend once or become a permanent part of the family, you will be treated with care and respect.

Our Home at Dingwall Street
